Guilty Pleasures

Daily Prompt: Grateful and Guilty

Whether it’s a trashy TV show, extra-pulpy fiction, or nutrient-free candy, write a thank-you note to your guiltiest guilty pleasure (thanks for the prompt suggestion, Sarah!)

Dear Guilty Pleasure,

I just want to say thank you to the three guys in my life, that never let me down, Ben & Jerry and Robert Mondavi. You guys were there for the sad times and the happy ones, the celebratory moments as well as the lonely ones, and all without judgement. You’re only but a few minutes away, no matter the time of day. So for you I am most grateful.

Thank you,

Me

The Good Old Days

Salad Days

Is there a period in your own personal life that you think of as the good old days? Tell us a story about those innocent and/or exciting times (or lack thereof).

“Back in the day when I was young I’m not a kid anymore”. The good old days, everyone has them and most remember them. For me the good old days would be being a teenager, went something like this….

In high school with no real worries

when dating was oh so much easier!

when I didn’t really have any major responsibilities

breaking curfew (sorry mom and dad) 🙂

house parties

riding in cars with boys, I mean with my girlfriends (again sorry mom) 🙂

Ahh, the good old days!

One Eventful Morning

Daily Prompt…….

Today you can write about anything, in whatever genre or form, but your post must include a speeding car, a phone call, and a crisp, bright morning. (Wildcard: you can swap any of the above for a good joke.)

I awake to the bright morning light, and look at the time…….oh crap I overslept! So I hop in the shower, get dressed, and make a phone call to my friend Chris, who surprisingly also overslept, to come and pick me up. He stops by in his speeding car, and we whisk off to the office. “Oh crap”! I said, as I started to laugh. Chris looks over and said, “what”? It’s Saturday, we both laughed.
